Job summary

Birdseye Solutions Inc seeks a third- or fourth-year Software Development Intern for an in-person, part-time role at our Mississauga HQ. You’ll work 20+ hours weekly with operations, customer success and finance teams to build and improve tools used daily.

Your focus includes internal tools, automation, and customer-facing applications. You will apply AI tools regularly to code, review results, and contribute to dashboards and workflow tools that support our day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Currently in the third or fourth year of a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related program.
• Working knowledge of multiple programming languages, including JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one back end language such as Python.
• Front end basics: HTML, CSS and a framework like React or Vue.
• Back end basics: building and using REST APIs.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs, especially Zoho, Slack or Google Workspace.
• Hands-on, daily use of AI coding tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
• Ability to review, test and debug AI-generated code, not just accept it.
• Projects that use AI or LLM APIs, such as OpenAI or Claude.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal tools and dashboards to help teams track performance and decisions.
• Create automations to connect existing systems and move data without manual work.
• Build workflow tools to support day-to-day operations.
• Develop customer-facing applications to support clients.
• Maintain production tools: fix bugs, improve features and write user documentation.
