Job summary

Perceptyx is hiring a Software Engineer for the Integrations team to build and operate the layer connecting our platform to customers' HR and ATS systems. This role is an individual contributor with impact across design decisions and the AI-driven development transition.

You will own integration boundaries, navigate ambiguous requirements, and lead with coaching across the team while championing AI-assisted development and robust API design.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including system design and building scalable, database-driven apps.
• Experience building against APIs you don't control — auth, rate limits, pagination, partial failures, vendor changes.
• API design experience for customer- or partner-facing endpoints, with versioning and secure access.
• Data correctness focus with mapping, idempotency, and schema drift management.
• Cross-team collaboration to negotiate scope, push back when needed, and drive commitments before work starts.

Responsibilities

• Own the Integration Boundary: define what belongs in the integration layer and shape what gets built and why.
• Navigate Ambiguity: resolve open questions across multiple teams and drive a solid technical direction.
• Lead and Multiply: coach engineers and elevate modern software engineering practices.
• AI-Driven Development: guide safe adoption of AI-assisted coding as tools evolve.
• Architect and Build: design and evolve the full integration surface, APIs, and client portals.
• Design for Correctness: defend against failures like duplicates, partial writes, and data loss.
• Scale and Optimize: address performance as connector volume grows with observability and testing.
• Collaborate and Influence: partner with Product, Services, and vendors to deliver cohesive solutions.
