Job summary

Green Diamond Equipment in Stratford, PEI, is hiring an Agricultural Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to diagnose and repair farm equipment with John Deere technology. The role requires 2+ years of service experience, a high school certificate, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience performing service repairs.
• High school certificate required.
• Diesel Mechanic Red Seal Certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Forklift license an asset.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use basic computer functions.
• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and implements.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized testing equipment.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• May attach components and adjust new farm equipment.
• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training and willingness to travel.
• Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitors' products.
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment.
• Keeps a clean work area and works neatly and safely.
• Completes all reports and forms related to work assignments.
• Collaborates with other departments as directed by Service Manager.
• Encourage teamwork, safety and a positive work environment.

We’re currently seeking a dedicated Agricultural Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to join our Stratford, PEI team.

Purpose

Independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products


• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment


• Test repaired equipment for proper performance


• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment


• May attach components and adjust new farm equipment


• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel


• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products


• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment


• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion


• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments


• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments


• Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager


• Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety and cooperative fun work environment

Experience, Education, Skills And Knowledge

• 2+ years of experience performing service repairs required


• High school certificate required.


• Diesel Mechanic Red Seal Certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred


• Valid driver’s license required.


• Forklift license an asset.


• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment


• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment


• Ability to use basic computer functions


• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes


• Proficient oral and written communication skills


• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
