Job summary

Kelly is hiring an Agile Scrum Master for a contract role with a leading global bank in Mississauga, Ontario. This hybrid position requires 2–3 days onsite per week and an initial duration of 6+ months with a strong possibility of extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team.
• Valid Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM).
• Extensive, hands-on knowledge of Jira for Agile project management.
• Strong SDLC and Agile methodologies knowledge (Scrum, Kanban).
• Proven experience coaching teams on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and impediment removal abilities.
• Experience with high-traffic, distributed, cloud-based services.
• Experience leading infrastructure programs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives).
• Guide and coach the Scrum Team on Agile values to delight customers.
• Act as servant-leader, removing impediments and protecting the team from interruptions.
• Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency.
• Support the Product Owner with backlog grooming and maintenance.
• Build a trusting environment for issue resolution without blame.
• Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
• Utilize Jira and other Agile tools to track progress and report key metrics.

Required Skills & Experience

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, ensuring they are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.
• Guide and coach the Scrum Team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
• Act as a servant-leader for the Scrum Team, helping to remove impediments and protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions.
• Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information.
• Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
• Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
• Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
• Utilize Jira and other Agile project management tools to track team progress, manage backlogs, and provide key metrics and reports on team performance.
