Job summary

Airbus in Mirabel, Quebec, is seeking a Toolmaker to join the tooling team. You will build, modify, repair and maintain mechanical tools, jigs and equipment used in aircraft manufacturing and assembly.

You will read blueprints, operate mills, lathes and CNC machines, diagnose faults, ensure metrology calibration, and contribute to continuous tooling improvements. The role requires DEP in Toolmaking or equivalent and 3 years' hands-on experience, with aerospace exposure as an asset.

Qualifications

• DEP in Toolmaking, Machining or AEC in Tooling/Mechanics with 3 years' experience.
• Hands-on experience manufacturing, fitting and assembling mechanical tools.
• Reading mechanical blueprints and using precision measurement instruments.
• Aerospace experience and jig tooling is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and organized.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical tooling plans, 3D models, and specs.
• Manufacture, assemble, and adjust tooling components.
• Operate mills, lathes, drills or CNC machines with precision.
• Diagnose and repair faults on production tools and equipment.
• Ensure tool calibrations with metrology.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of tooling systems.
• Advise supervisor of defective tools.
• Participate in training of new employees.
• Enforce health and safety rules.
