Job summary

Syntronic in Brampton is seeking a Software Safety Engineer to lead safety requirements and analyses for complex electro-mechanical systems with a heavy software component on aerospace and space-related projects.

You will collaborate with design, systems engineering and software teams; perform hazard assessments, criticality analyses, and safety reviews; contribute to System Safety Analysis Reports; and communicate safety decisions to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software safety experience in safety-critical environments, preferably aerospace.
• Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering (or CS).
• Ability to collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to develop safety requirements.
• Ability to multi-task across projects and teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Must obtain security clearance at the reliability status and CGP assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety requirements for products with significant software content.
• Perform safety/hazard analyses on complex electromechanical systems with software components.
• Conduct software criticality analyses and safety verifications.
• Develop and defend safety designs to internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in System Safety Analysis Reports and safety reviews.
