Job summary

Fleet Canada Inc., Fort Erie, Ontario, seeks an experienced Quality Engineering Manager to lead the Quality Engineering team, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and customer requirements. Reporting to the Director of Quality and Engineering, this role drives technical excellence, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
  • 7+ years aerospace manufacturing quality experience, with at least 2 years in leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies: SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, 8D, PPAP, MSA.
  • Experience with build-to-print manufacturing and complex assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of quality engineers in supporting manufacturing operations, supplier quality, and new product introduction.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve quality engineering procedures, tools, and metrics in alignment with AS9100, AS9102, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Drive structured problem-solving activities (8D, A3, Fishbone, FMEA) to ensure effective root cause analysis and CPP actions.
  • Collaborate with Process/Methods Planners, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to integrate quality into products and processes from the outset.
  • Oversee FAIs per AS9102 and verify compliance with customer drawings and specifications.
  • Guide team members in process capability studies, statistical analyses, validation activities, and special process qualifications.
  • Lead first part qualification planning, execution, and approvals.
  • Act as the customer-facing technical contact for quality issues, audits, and improvements.
  • Support internal and external audits, including regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop quality engineering talent, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
