Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking an experienced engineer to lead manufacturing support for New Product Development in the Dorval area. You will contribute to concept definition, feasibility assessments, and design maturity across aerospace programs.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain to optimize processes, ensure test plans meet certification requirements, and drive cost-effective, producible solutions.

Qualifications

• University degree in Manufacturing, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience including aircraft systems integration, NPD, industrialization, and IFS activities.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft systems (FBW, mechanical, avionics) and manufacturing constraints.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain and suppliers.
• Practical PFMEA, risk management, testing, validation, troubleshooting in aerospace context.
• Proficiency with MS Office and CATIA, ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of FAA, EASA and Transport Canada standards and their impact on manufacturing/testing.
• Results-driven with strong communication and problem-solving, safety and quality focus.
• AME B1/B2/C license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in New Product Development at the platform level, contributing to concept definition and design maturity.
• Support aircraft design activities through BES phases with focus on DFM and DFC for producible solutions.
• Evaluate and implement optimal manufacturing and assembly technologies balancing performance, cost, and schedule.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to review and implement technical solutions for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Review FTERs to ensure system reliability, safety, and compliance.
• Define Ground Support Equipment requirements for testing, validation, and maintenance.
• Lead configuration management for ground test rigs and flight test installations.
• Prepare detailed technical reports from drawings, parts and assemblies using CAD tools.
• Develop robust testing strategies with V&V plans to ensure design intent and certification.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and quality across programs.
