Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a Machine Shop Technician - Fit & Ream to support production on the Weekday Night shift (8:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.). The role reports to the Weekday Night Shift Assembly Supervisor and focuses on honing, reaming, bushings, lathe work and assembly tasks in the machine shop.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 2 years of machining experience, plus familiarity with blueprints, measuring tools, and material handling.

Qualifications

• Typically; High school diploma, and a minimum of 2 years of current machining experience.
• Experience in material handling and crane/hoist operations.
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints
• Experience in measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Part loading, fixturing and unloading.
• Perform honing applications, installation of bushings, lathe work, reaming, label installation, swaging, sleeve installation, lube fittings, etc.
• Work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
• Document actions in support of quality logs and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS).
• Support continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
• Cross-functional training in related processes as required.
• Multi-task in the cell and perform TPM and machine checklist.
