Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a skilled Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill for the weekend night shift. You will perform manual set-ups, maintain tolerances, and support quality logs while following set-up sheets and drawings.

Candidates need 3 years of Boring Mill or 5-axis machining experience, read blueprints, use measuring equipment, and operate an overhead crane. Eligible to work in Canada; ITAR/CCGP compliance required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Boring Mill machining experience or 5-axis machining experience minimum.
• Experience using measuring equipment to support quality requirements.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Eligible to work in Canada; ITAR/CCGP compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Perform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
• Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV).
• Document actions in support of quality logs and communicate discrepancies to supervision.
• Work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
• Support continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work in the cell.
