Job summary

IMP Aerospace & Defence seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a team delivering strategic, technical, and operational leadership for aerospace programs. You will ensure safe, compliant execution of activities related to fleet sustainment, modification, and modernization.

You will lead engineers, drive performance, recruit, and manage resources while maintaining strong customer and regulatory engagement. Halifax area role with strong leadership expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering from an accredited university; a Master's is asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in aerospace, aviation, or defense.
  • Minimum of 4 years leading engineering teams or technical organizations.
  • Experience with aircraft sustainment, modification, modernization, or certification programs.
  • Eligibility for CGP/ITAR and Canadian government security clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop engineering personnel to achieve objectives.
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct reviews.
  • Foster safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and development.
  • Plan and manage resources to meet program demands; monitor workload.
  • Ensure deliverables meet schedule, cost, quality, and performance goals.
  • Manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance across programs.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders; participate in reviews and audits.
