Job summary

Manitoba Hydro is seeking an AEMS Power System Applications Engineer to lead stability applications development in Winnipeg, MB. You will drive technical studies, software benchmarking, and compliance activities for WAMS, DSA Tools, and NASPI initiatives, collaborating with reliability coordinators, vendors, and inter-utility groups.

Qualifications

• Power systems engineering degree with eight+ years of related experience.
• Professional membership with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba or willingness to attain.
• Must obtain Personnel Risk Assessment and a Clear security rating per policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical studies, tests, reports, modeling, and support for WAMS and related advanced stability applications.
• Coordinate compliance analysis for NERC requirements and benchmarking procedures.
• Provide guidance during system upgrades and implement technical enhancements.
• Represent Manitoba Hydro in NASPI, GE EMS User Group, and MISO WAMS User Group activities.
• Create and maintain documentation and procedures for AEMS/WAMS/DSA Tools compliance and operation.
• Mentor Engineers, Technologists, EITs, interns, and summer students.
