Job summary

Altasciences seeks an Advisor, Internal Communications to develop and implement internal communications strategies, manage the intranet and digital signage, and drive employee engagement across Canadian sites.

You will create visual content, coordinate the quarterly newsletter, translate between French and English, and support events in a fast-paced environment. On-site ~20% at Montreal/Laval/Dorval locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in communications, internal communications or employee engagement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in French and English.
• Proficiency in MS365 (Teams, Live Events, Stream, Forms, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience managing a SharePoint portal (intranet).
• Strong creativity and design skills (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Video editing knowledge (iMovie or Movavi).
• Ability to present to groups of internal clients or employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop communications for strategic announcements, launches and projects.

About The Job

The Advisor, Internal Communications will be a key contributor to the Internal Communications department whose objective is to develop internal communications strategies and implement plans and tools to support the company's business strategies, promote its organizational culture and increase employee engagement.

What You'll Do Here:

• Developing communications related to strategic announcements, program launches or special projects within the company.
• Creating compelling visuals and videos to support communication campaigns.
• Maintaining and updating the intranet site and digital signage platform to ensure information is engaging, accurate, relevant and timely.
• Managing and coordinating the quarterly employee newsletter.
• Assisting the Manager in composing, editing and proofreading communications submitted for review by various departments.
• Building a department content calendar; coordinating timing of various messages to align with company events or initiatives.
• Tracking metrics across all internal channels to drive overall strategy and improvements.
• Keeping abreast of the latest trends in internal communications to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of current channels and platforms.
• Contributing to the planning of virtual, in-person and hybrid events.
• Ensuring that all internal communications are executed in accordance with the company brand image.
• Translating communications from French to English and English to French and/or coordinate with external translation services.

What You Need To Succeed

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in communications ideally internal communications and/or employee engagement or similar areas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English
• Proficiency in MS365 (Teams, Teams Live Events, Stream, Forms, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Experience managing a SharePoint portal (employee intranet)
• Strong creativeness and design skills - knowledge of graphic editing tools (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, or others.)
• Knowledgeable in video editing software to support internal digital projects (iMovie or Movavi Video Suites, etc.)
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of internal clients or employees of the organization.
• Personal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information.
• Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
• Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities.
• Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
• Results-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Positive and enthusiastic team player with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
• Will be required to be on site (Montreal, Laval or Dorval sites) approximately 20% of the time for events, video recordings and other requests as needed.

Fluency in English is an essential requirement for the position of Advisor, Internal Communications including, but not limited to, for the following reasons:

• The employee communicates frequently with Altasciences employees across Canada and the United States. As such, English is the main language used to correspond between offices.
