Job summary

Desjardins in Montreal, Canada is seeking a Finance and General Accounting Advisor for a 12-month temporary position. You will produce reports, conduct audits, perform financial simulations, and analyze risks, profits and losses to support financial performance and budgeting processes.

You will manage and control accounting systems, gather and record financial data, assist with pricing and financial engineering, and provide analytical recommendations to improve standards and programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience.
  • CPA designation.
  • Knowledge of French is required.

Job description

Temporary 12- Month Position

As a finance and general accounting advisor, you help manage financial accounts in accordance with the organization's objectives by producing reports; performing audits, inspections and financial simulations; and analyzing risks, profits and losses. In addition to ensuring financial performance, you help plan and review budget processes. You help manage and control the organization's accounting systems by gathering, processing and recording financial data to accurately reflect the organization's economic activity. You assist with product and service pricing and financial engineering, financial market transactions, and tax law analysis (including payroll). You advise and assist clients and partners and recommend solutions to improve or optimize standards, policies and programs. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work. You prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on the organization's objectives and priorities. You help solve complex problems using your analytical skills and extensive knowledge of your line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Diagnose issues, challenges and needs to determine target outcomes

  • Analyze data, conduct studies, make recommendations and write reports
  • Review and update practices, policies and procedures for your line of work
