Job summary

Ontario Energy Board in Ontario seeks an Advisor in Communications and Engagement to support stakeholder and consumer engagement initiatives, including event coordination, digital communications, analytics and campaign support.

You will update websites and social channels, review publications, and work with internal teams to enhance regulatory communications while advancing the corporate mandate and accessibility commitments.

Qualifications

• University degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or a related discipline.
• 2 years’ experience in communications focused on developing digital communications and stakeholder engagement.
• 4 years of progressive experience in a consumer-facing organization, public relations agency, political, regulated industry, or public utility setting.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, Teams, social media content creation and platform management.
• French is an asset, along with advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint and Google Analytics.

• Gather information and develop analytics to identify needs, gaps and opportunities for improvement.

Overview

The Communications and Engagement Division focuses on the Ontario Energy Board’s consumer, stakeholder and communications-related initiatives. It is responsible for increasing the organization’s visibility, building trust and providing information to consumers.

Under the direction of the Manager, Engagement, the Advisor will support the team’s stakeholder and consumer engagement activities. This includes supporting stakeholder event coordination, execution of stakeholder communication activities, web and social media updates and supporting marketing campaigns.

• Gather information and develop analytics to leverage and identify needs, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare analytic reports and apply analysis results to adapt and enhance current practices
• Update websites and social media channels as necessary
• Review publications and other resources to keep abreast of current media and provide ideas for improvement initiatives to support the corporate mandate.
• Collaborate with internal working teams to share and exchange information on communication matters.
• Support the coordination of virtual and in-person events, determining event scope and target audiences.

Qualifications

• University degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or a related discipline.
• 2 years’ experience in communications focused on developing digital communications and stakeholder engagement.
• 4 years of progressive experience in a consumer-facing organization, public relations agency, political, regulated industry, or public utility setting.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, Advanced knowledge in social media content creation and platform (LinkedIn, X, Instagram) management.
• French is an asset, along with advanced knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft SharePoint and Google Analytics.
