Job summary

Energy and Mines | Énergie et des Mines in Ontario is seeking a highly analytical professional to inform electricity policy and planning decisions. The Electricity Policy, Economics and System Planning Branch is seeking a highly analytical professional to help inform Ontario's electricity policy and planning decisions. In this role, you will lead research and economic analysis on electricity supply, demand, pricing, and market structures, develop policy options, and provide strategic advice on emerging electricity sector issues. You have experience with:

Policy Analysis and Development

You have experience with:

  • researching, analysing, and developing policy options to address complex issues and support decision-making.
  • assessing the impacts, risks, and trade-offs of policy proposals.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

You have experience with:

  • building collaborative relationships with stakeholders to exchange information, gather insights, and support policy or program objectives.
  • communicating complex information and analysis clearly through briefing materials, presentations, and written reports.
  • providing advice and responding to inquiries from a range of audiences, including senior leaders, partners, and external stakeholders.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

You have experience with:

  • analyzing complex information, identifying key issues, and developing practical solutions to support business or policy objectives.
  • experience applying critical thinking and judgment to interpret data, assess competing priorities, and resolve complex challenges.
Electricity Market and Energy Sector Knowledge

You have knowledge of:

  • electricity markets, energy systems, or other complex and regulated sectors, and can apply this knowledge to support policy work.
