Overview

We seek an experienced Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) team within the Reliability Solutions Department (RSD). The role involves providing engineering support across Saudi Aramco’s facilities, focusing on optimizing operations through APC technologies such as DMC3, PACE, or Profit Suite, and leading improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align APC objectives with corporate goals, develop programs, monitor KPIs to enhance APC and economic performance.
  • Analyze process data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop inferential models for refinery efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Implement APC strategies, conduct feasibility studies, and establish business cases.
  • Evaluate new APC technologies like Real-Time Optimization, Machine Learning, and AI.
  • Address complex APC issues to improve processes and economic benefits.
  • Provide expertise and training to operational and engineering teams.
  • Lead technical reviews, performance assessments, and ensure optimization requirements are met.
  • Monitor economic KPIs and recommend improvements.
  • Review standards and act as SME within GME.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of reliability engineering experience in downstream Oil & Gas; 20+ years preferred.
  • Expertise in APC, control systems, OPC.
  • Strong understanding of refinery economics, mass, and energy balances.
  • Familiarity with international standards for APC.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills in APC.
  • Leadership skills for managing technical teams.
  • Knowledge of oil/gas plant processes.
