About GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd.

GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd. is a 100% Indigenous owned Technical Workforce and Indigenous Employment Partner. We place operators, trades, and technical crews with oil and gas, mining, construction, and industrial clients across Western Canada.

We encourage First Nations applicants, both status and non status, along with Inuit and Metis applicants, to self identify when they apply. Self identification is voluntary and it does not change how your experience, tickets, and safety record are assessed.

The Role

GrizzlyTrek is seeking a Field Operator to join our valued client's team in central Alberta. This is a full time, field based position on producing gas assets. You run high pressure multi well pads, gas compression, condensate stabilization, and plunger lift systems, and you report to the Senior Production Foreman.

This is a high paced area with proven assets and continued growth. You work on your own most days, so judgment, safety discipline, and time management matter more here than close supervision. The role is home based, not camp based.

What You'll Do
  • Put health, safety, and environment ahead of every other priority on the job
  • Start up and commission new high pressure multi well pads
  • Monitor and maintain producing wells, compressors, lift gas, and well test equipment
  • Run pipeline pigging programs safely and on schedule
  • Track production volumes and keep fuel, flare, and vent logs current
  • Identify deficiencies in field procedures and recommend corrections
  • Keep operations cost effective without cutting corners on safety
  • Support compliance initiatives and site audits
  • Handle general maintenance and housekeeping across the facilities
  • Contribute to team targets for production, environment, safety, and KPIs
What You Bring
  • Minimum 3 years of operating experience in oil and gas production
  • High school diploma. A 4th Class Power Engineering certificate, GPO, or PFO certificate is preferred, or a willingness to complete one
  • Valid H2S Alive and First Aid certifications
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence
  • Working knowledge of production facilities, including gas compressors, condensate stabilization, and plunger lift
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing field conditions
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn client production software
  • Availability for overtime and on call duty while on shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4th Class Power Engineering certificate already in hand
  • Experience commissioning new pads or facilities
  • Experience with SCADA and electronic flow measurement
Location and Relocation

This is a residence based role. You must already live in the Rocky Mountain House, Eckville, or Sylvan Lake area, be willing to relocate there, or live close enough to drive to the field area within roughly 100 km.

The 8 and 6 rotation and on call duty mean you need to reach site reliably on schedule and respond when you are called out. Applicants outside that range are considered only when they confirm relocation.

What We Offer
  • Base rate of $45.00 to $60.00 per hour, set on experience and certification level
  • Home based work in the field area, not camp based
  • 8 days on, 6 days off, 10 hour shifts, with overtime and on call duty while on shift
  • Life insurance: $100,000 employee / $10,000 spouse / $5,000 per child
  • AD&D insurance with critical illness and cancer coverage
  • Extended health care: drugs, hospital, hearing, orthotics, nursing
  • Paramedical services: chiro, physio, massage, mental health (annual coverage)
  • Vision care: glasses, contacts, laser surgery, and exams
  • Dental care: 80% basic ($2,500), 50% major ($2,500), $2,500 ortho for children
  • Travel insurance: up to $5,000,000 per incident (trips up to 90 days)
  • Ongoing training and career development support
