Schaeffler Aerospace Canada Inc. is seeking a Grinding Setup Operator for a full-time role in Ontario. You will set up and operate CNC grinding and, when required, CNC lathe processes in a Large Cell, following standard work and inspection policies.

Ideal candidates hold a Grade 12 diploma and a General Machinist Trade certificate or Red Seal, with demonstrated grinding setup experience. Starting wages are competitive, with benefits, pension matching, and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a minimum of one CNC grinding production process performing single, multi-function and multi-sequencing operations on a universal grinding machine, which may include chucking and shoe work holding methods
• Set up and operate a minimum of one CNC lathe production process (pertinent only to Large Cell)
• Follow standard work instructions and work specifications
• Perform problem solving and troubleshoot to resolve production/process issues to meet required standards.
• Responsible for quality and quantity of work produced by process. Monitor production process according to maintenance schedule and perform routine maintenance in timely manner.
• Required to perform inspection of own work using precision measuring equipment as provided or directed to assess quality of work.
• Follow and accurately record data as directed or required in routers, IMS and any other production tracking systems.
• Required to train other operators as needed.May be required to work in other departments or occasionally to set up a machine for others to operate.
• Ability to read and interpret production prints.
• Requires adequate computer skills to access production procedures to perform the required work.
• Responsible for excellent housekeeping and maintaining 5S in all areas.
• Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and maintain certification through company Certified Operator Program.
