Job summary

The successful candidate will hold ACP or PCP certification, NL registration, and required medical authorizations, with a minimum of three years frontline experience.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an approved Advanced Care Paramedic or Primary Care Paramedic program.
• Current registration with the NL Paramedicine Regulation (ACP/ PCP).
• Must have medical authorization with the OPMD after orientation.
• Minimum three years frontline ACP/ PCP experience in a high-volume EMS system.
• Valid NL Class 4 Driver's License.
• Good standing in clinical competence and conduct.
• CritiCall aptitude testing required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current ACLS (ACP only).
• Current PALS (ACP only) or willingness to complete.
• EMD certification is an asset.
• Proficiency with Windows and CAD/communications systems.
• Physical capability testing completed within last 3 months.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, clinical assessment, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ground/air ambulance operations and related policies.
• Satisfactory driver abstract required; conduct and attendance records.
• Satisfactory RCMP/police conduct certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assess clinical needs for interfacility transfers and 911 community calls.
• Provide clinical advice and triage to internal/external partners.
• Work within ACP/ PCP scope to fulfill role requirements.
• Promote person- and family-centered care and safety.
• May mentor students and new employees during placements.
