Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Registered Cardiology Technologist Advanced to evaluate and assist in diagnosing patients’ cardiac status. Responsibilities include site-wide electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitoring, and stress testing, with preceptorship for new learners.

The position offers a long assignment full-time schedule (75 hours biweekly) for approximately 18 months within the OPCZ Cardiac Electrodiag Unit at Halifax Infirmary.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 plus completion of Cardiology Technology program or acceptable equivalent.
• Current registration and good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists.
• Current BLS (HCP) certification.
• Strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
• Ability to adapt to flexible workload and stressful situations.
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assist in diagnosis of patients’ cardiac status through noninvasive tests.
• Prepare patients for and perform electrocardiograms and related tests.
• Provide preceptorship and mentorship to new learners in the department.
