Organizational Description: Manitoba Underdogs Rescue is a registered charity and non-profit organization that is foster home based and we carry out our mission thanks to an incredible volunteer team.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, care for, and ultimately seek out permanent and loving homes for Manitoba dogs. In addition to this, we partner with First Nations communities to empower responsible dog ownership and welfare through education, support, and vet services.

Description of Duties:

Are you passionate about planning events and helping dogs find loving homes? We're looking for an Adoption Events Coordinator to lead our adoption events and make sure our underdogs get the spotlight they deserve. While this role is primarily remote, we'd love for you to attend events to connect with adoption partners and volunteers.

What you'll do:

  1. Plan and coordinate adoption events with partners like PetSmart.
  2. Work with our foster and vetting teams to select dogs for each event.
  3. Arrange transportation for dogs and ensure events are well-staffed.
  4. Collaborate on event marketing and logistics, including managing donations.
  5. Build strong relationships with partners to keep events running smoothly.

What we're looking for:

  1. Event planning experience is a plus!
  2. Great communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  3. Comfortable with Google Docs/Sheets, Facebook, and Messenger.
  4. Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per week (can vary)

Location of Volunteer Opportunity: Winnipeg (Assiniboine South, Downtown, Elmwood, Fort Garry, Inkster, Point Douglas, River East, River Heights, Seven Oaks, St. Boniface, St. James-Assiniboia, St. Vital, Transcona)
