The salary range for this position is CAD $24.76 - $26.38 per hour.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Relief Part-Time Administrative Support Clerk to support Population & Public Health in Langley, B.C. This position is available until March 2026 or until the return of the incumbent.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Public Health Administrative Supervisor, performs administrative functions including reception, typing, filing, mail processing, arranging meetings, operating office equipment, assisting with client intake, and timekeeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reception duties: operating switchboard, answering calls, greeting visitors.
  • Typing and document preparation using word processing software.
  • Maintaining filing systems and records.
  • Processing mail and courier services.
  • Managing office supplies and resources.
  • Arranging meetings and special functions.
  • Operating and maintaining office equipment.
  • Assisting with client intake and scheduling.
  • Performing timekeeping and payroll functions.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

Grade 12, plus graduation from an approved Office Administration Certificate program, and 1 year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to deal effectively with others and handle conflict situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and sound judgment skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and organize work.

  • Typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Proficiency with applicable computer software and equipment.
  • Knowledge of office practices, relevant acts, regulations, and policies.
