Qualifications

• Secondary school graduate, with post-secondary education in Nutrition preferred
• Minimum two-year relevant experience in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of basic food and nutrition required, preference will be given to those with knowledge of diet therapy
• Demonstrated customer service and communication skills, handling issues and problem solving with tact and diplomacy
• Excellent computer skills (Computrition, Microsoft Office, Internet)
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
• Proven organizational and teamwork skills
• Able to work independently and prioritize workload and handle demands in a fast paced environment
• Positive work and attendance performance essential

Position Summary

• Responsible for working as part of a dynamic and diverse team to support the patient experience with excellent food service
• Responsible for obtaining patients’ meal choices via computer for two meals daily
• Working closely with the patient food services assembly team
• Provides front-line service to patients and families, particularly food and meal requests and queries and related concerns.
• Works efficiently and effectively to meet department operational timelines
• Responsible for processing meal tickets for meals, nourishments and tube feedings
• Handles basic problems and refers issues beyond your scope to a Diet Technician or Nutrition and Food Service Team Leader
• Other duties as assigned
