Administrative Services Assistant | Community Care

Position Overview

North Hills Care Centre in Kamloops, B.C., is seeking a casual Administrative Services Assistant to join their team. This role offers variety, valuable experience, and opportunities for career growth. Work hours range from 0 to 37.5 per week, with shifts on short notice or pre-scheduled to cover leaves. Many casual employees transition into permanent roles. We offer competitive wages, shift premiums, employer-paid training, and an Employee & Family Assistance Program.

Responsibilities
  • Perform reception, administrative, and Health Unit Aide support duties: data entry, organizing, collating, verifying information, correspondence, presentations, meetings, agendas, minutes, travel arrangements, reception duties, and record management.
  • Schedule and confirm client appointments, handle cash transactions, maintain medical/surgical supplies and equipment, and manage HCIS resources.
  • Provide clinical support such as room setup, sanitizing toys and equipment, weighing and measuring babies, calibrating equipment, and conducting vision screenings.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing medical equipment, delivering supplies, and working with clients who may be confused, anxious, or difficult.
Application Requirements
  • A 5-minute typing test (40+ nwpm) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months.
  • An office administration certificate from a recognized institution.
  • Your resume outlining at least one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A cover letter indicating your availability for start date and on-call, casual work (specify days of the week).
