Job summary

Northern Health is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the Regional Home & Community Care department. This role will coordinate clerical tasks, organize teaching resources, and manage data and reporting from a central hub.

Responsibilities include updating the HPC Program Manual, distributing materials, publishing the HPC Newsletter, and maintaining iPortal sites for local and remote team members.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Post-secondary office programs are preferred.
  • 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combo.
  • Equivalents deemed reasonable and relevant will be considered.

Job description

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Administrative Assistant to support the Regional Home & Community Care department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Administrative Assistant will establish office practices to support the Leader and HPC Consultation Team members from a central hub. This position will coordinate common clerical and current business practices and creative strategies to support the local and remote interdisciplinary Team such as NH HPC Program Manual update and distribution, organization and preparation of teaching resources, tracking and electronic filing of resources, publishing the HPC Newsletter, maintaining the iPortal sites as well as data administration and reporting.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, Days, 08:30 to 16:30

Qualfications
  • Grade 12.
  • Recognized Office Careers Program Certificate.
  • Recent, related experience of three (3) years.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Or other Qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to operate related equipment and software programs (Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Publishing, Excel, Power Point, Visio, graphics, etc).
  • Ability to type 60 words per minute.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively and develop strong collaborative working relationships.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with Team and clients.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
