A leading healthcare provider in Victoria seeks an Addictions and Recovery Worker to deliver non-medical withdrawal management care. The role includes client supervision, harm reduction education, and documentation. Candidates should have relevant certification and experience in addiction counselling.

The requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Coordinator or designate, the Addictions and Recovery Worker provides non-medical withdrawal management care, including general care services, harm reduction education, group facilitation, individual risk screening, client registration, admission/discharge, supportive counselling, daily living activities, and supervision of clients dealing with substance misuse. The worker observes and monitors clients, models healthy lifestyle behaviors, and completes documentation. Travel may be required, and transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements, potentially including the use of a personal vehicle.
Post-secondary certification in addiction counselling or equivalent, plus two years' recent related experience. Knowledge of chemical dependency and community resources. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required. A valid BC Driver's License is required for certain positions, as determined by operational needs. Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) must be obtained within the first three months of employment. FoodSafe Certification is required for Supportive Housing and Long-term Care positions.
Experience working with adults and youth with mental health and substance use issues is preferred.
