A leading health authority is seeking an Addictions and Recovery Worker to provide comprehensive non-medical withdrawal management care. The role involves supporting clients with substance misuse through education, supervision, and documentation. Candidates should have relevant certifications and experience in addiction counselling and mental health support.

Reporting to the Coordinator or designate, the Addictions and Recovery Worker provides comprehensive non-medical withdrawal management care. This includes general care services, harm reduction education, group facilitation, individual risk screening, client registration, admission/discharge processes, supportive counselling, daily living activities, and supervision of clients dealing with substance misuse. The role involves observing and monitoring clients, role modeling healthy lifestyle behaviors, and completing documentation. Travel may be required, and transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Vancouver Island Health Authority, which may include the use of a personal vehicle.
