Job summary

Providence Health Care is seeking registered nurses to join the Road to Recovery (R2R) on Acute Detox units at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. You will provide specialized, relationship-centred care within an interdisciplinary team to support clients in their recovery journey.

Applicants must be registered with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. The role involves collaboration with multiple care teams, adherence to mNPR staffing standards, and participation in ongoing education and program

Qualifications

Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and provide patient-centred care.
CPR knowledge and ability to respond to life-threatening situations.
Strong communication and clinical judgment in a busy acute detox setting.

Responsibilities

Provide specialized acute detox nursing care and monitor patients throughout withdrawal.
Support stabilization and recovery with health education and care planning.
Advocate for patient needs, coordinate discharge planning, and connect with community resources.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and contribute to quality improvement within R2R.
