Job summary

Oak Valley Health is seeking an experienced Health Information Coder to ensure accurate coding and abstraction of inpatient and ambulatory data. You will work within the Health Information Management team, coding per CIHI standards and MOH requirements.

With a minimum of two years in acute hospital coding and a solid understanding of ICD-10/CCI, you will engage physicians, perform chart reviews, and contribute to data quality and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved health information management program with eligibility for CHIMA membership.
• Minimum 2 years in an acute hospital DAD/NACRS coding and abstracting.
• Knowledge of ICD-10/CCI, CIHI standards, CMG, CACS, HIG grouping methodologies.
• Experience with Meditech is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract health information for acute inpatient discharges and ambulatory visits as per CIHI and MOH requirements.
• Participate in data quality and continuous improvement initiatives in coding and abstracting.
• Conduct regular chart reviews and engage with physicians to ensure accuracy.
