Job summary

Co-operators in Ontario, Canada is hiring for a temporary full-time actuarial role within Individual Insurance and Wealth Management. The position offers a hybrid work model (2 days in office) for a 14-month term and involves pricing support for wealth products, actuarial analysis, and mentorship opportunities.

The role requires a CIA-accredited degree or relevant discipline, actuarial modeling experience, and active pursuit of CIA/SOA designation within a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from CIA-accredited university or a relevant discipline.
• Actuarial industry experience including actuarial modeling.
• Active pursuit of a CIA or SOA designation within one year of Associateship.

Responsibilities

• Complete pricing and product support for wealth products (annuities, group annuities, segregated funds, group retirement); analyze assumptions, create projections, run quotes.
• Develop understanding of actuarial concepts and apply them to conclusions.
• Communicate actuarial concepts within the department in writing and verbally; prepare official communications.
• Uphold professional ethics, values, and policies supporting company and profession standards.
• Utilize and develop actuarial knowledge from research and education initiatives; contribute to development projects.
• Train and mentor junior staff.
