Qualifications

  • Experience in insurance, risk management, and/or actuarial work would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and good written and verbal skills is essential.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Here’s the job opportunity…

We are looking for a detailed oriented and driven Actuarial Assistant who will be working in our Risk Management Department supporting all aspects of risk management, including quarterly reporting, model risk framework development, climate risk management, investment risk management, Sagicor US reporting and development, and Own Risk Solvency Assessment.

You Will

  • Contribute to developing and maintaining comprehensive and reliable risk management tools and models for ivari and Sagicor US
  • Ensure clear and concise communication to team and manager
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for risk management, including quarterly Board reporting, climate risk disclosures, and model risk management reporting
  • Contribute to model risk reviews and new product pricing peer reviews
  • Become thoroughly familiar with Excel, and other relevant tools as required
  • Build subject matter expertise in the risk management area
  • Provide insight to assist with streamlining the risk management reporting and infrastructure

What We Are Looking For…

  • University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
  • Progressing towards attainment of Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA)
  • Experience in insurance, risk management, and/or actuarial work would be an asset
  • Excellent quantitative skills, data analysis skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of Excel. Experience in AXIS and programming tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R, PowerBI) would be an asset
  • Good written and verbal business communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively to deliver on organizational goals
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
