A leading health authority is seeking an Activity Worker for their Recreational Therapy department in Dawson Creek, Canada. In accordance with the vision and values of the organization and under the general supervision of a senior position such as a Recreation Therapist, Program Coordinator, Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist, the Activity Worker is a member of the multidisciplinary team within a client and family centered model of care and is responsible for carrying out an established activity / recreation / leisure program as directed.
New Wage : As of April 1, 2024, the new wage is : $29.83 / hour
Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Monday to Friday, Days, Evenings - 08 : 30 to 16 : 30, 12 : 30 to 20 : 30. There are three evening shifts per month and occasional weekend for special programs.
The Rotary Manor Complex consists of two buildings; the main area and the three-story tower are joined by a glassed walkway. All areas are bright with lots of natural sunlight and pleasant décor. 115 publicly subsidized beds, two private rooms for respite care two private rooms for community palliative needs. We have an active recreation department with various activities planned during the day, as well as groups who come in, both in the daytime and during the evening, for example school children for the Grand Buddy program, singers and musicians, church groups etc. The Adult Day Away Program integrates some of their activities with the facility recreation program.
