Qualifications

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Accounts Receivable Advisor’s primary responsibility is to support the residences for all billing-related issues and collections, proactively identify opportunities to improve, develop, and maintain procedures for receivables processes.

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Accounts Receivable Advisor’s primary responsibility is to support the residences for all billing-related issues and collections, proactively identify opportunities to improve, develop, and maintain procedures for receivables processes.

What You’ll Do
  1. Provide exceptional customer experience
  2. Oversee resident maintenance and billing processes
  3. Ensure timely receipt of internal control reports with appropriate approvals, ensuring compliance with corporate policies
  4. Ensure accurate completion of leases and reflection in the billing system
  5. Review census for accuracy and process resident movements (move-ins, move-outs, room changes, rent changes, etc.)
  6. Apply bank deposits against outstanding resident amounts promptly
  7. Calculate resident yearly rent increases and distribute monthly by the due date
  8. Follow up on resident refunds, current and stale dated
  9. Process NSF payments timely and follow-up with the property on payments
  10. Monitor and track collections activities for accounts over 30 days
  11. Prepare monthly detailed outstanding analysis for top 10 properties
  12. Generate and distribute monthly billing reports and EFTs
  13. Coordinate with properties for month-end closing
  14. Establish relationships with management and provide support and training as needed
  15. Respond promptly to queries from properties and residents
  16. Update and maintain residents’ securities and last month rent deposits in the system
  17. Identify opportunities for process improvements
  18. Develop and maintain receivables procedures
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
Experience & Requirements
  • Accounts Receivable experience: 2–4 years
  • Bilingual in French & English required
Education
  • College diploma or University degree
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of the Accounts Receivable cycle and finance
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Yardi considered an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Independent work capability
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of AR policies and procedures
