Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton in Canada is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP team, ensure accurate processing, timely payments, and compliant month-end close. You’ll drive process improvements, partner with Finance, Procurement, and vendors, and guide change through new technologies.

You will mentor analysts, monitor KPIs on efficiency and cost, and promote a culture of continuous improvement while supporting our advisory services and reliable financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Accounts Payable experience.
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience.
• Post-secondary education completed in business administration or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to a team of analysts, ensuring readiness for changes.
• Oversee timely, accurate AP processing and month-end activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Lead process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency.
• Develop partnerships with Finance, Procurement and stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional projects including system enhancements and policy implementations.
• Prepare and present AP KPI reports on efficiency, accuracy, and costs.
• Act as change agent to foster adaptability and continuous improvement.

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading the AP team and overseeing accurate, timely, and compliant invoice processing, payment activities, and month-end support. This role provides guidance through process changes and new technologies, partners with internal stakeholders and vendors, monitors AP performance and controls, and promotes continuous improvement to support efficient operations and reliable financial reporting.

As an Accounts Payable Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Provide leadership and support to a team of analysts, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to adapt to process changes and new technologies
• Support all AP related functions, focused on timely and accurate transaction processing and month end activities
• Ensure all AP processes comply with internal policies and external regulations, minimizing risk and creating accurate financial reporting
• Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, controls, workflows, and stakeholder experience
• Develop and maintain effective partnership with Finance, Procurement and business stakeholders to ensure seamless adoption of new policies and procedures
• Lead and contribute to cross functional projects and initiatives, including process optimization, systems enhancements and policy implementation to support business objectives
• Prepare and present reports on AP performance reporting, including KPIs on efficiency, accuracy and cost management
• Act as a change agent, fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement within the team and the organization

• Completed post-secondary education (university degree and/or college diploma), preferably in business administration
• Minimum 5 years Accounts Payable Experience
