Job Description

What You’ll Do :

Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the core parts of your role will be to :

  • Processdaily accounts payables timely and accurately. This includes obtaining approval from management or the business to issue payments, handling adjustments, and preparing corresponding journal entries and reports.
  • Analyzediscrepancies, ensureerrors are corrected, and confirmaccuracy prior to payment.
  • Gatherand analyzedata for weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Developand maintainstrong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sort, deliverand mailinformation including cheques and remittance advices, and matchcheques to paid invoices for signing.
  • Obtain, analyze, and enterall information into the sub-ledger schedules to prepare monthly reconciliation of receipts and disbursements.
  • Performmonthly reconciliations of sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Securefinancial information through regular database back-ups and followinternal accounting controls to maintain financial security.
  • Assistwith processing and tracking of prepaid payments, including preparing monthly journal entries, and year end documentation.
  • Prepareand processelectronic funds transfer (EFT) payment files.
  • Identifyopportunities for process efficiencies and implements changes.
  • Performother duties within competence, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year post-secondary education (training) including introductory accounting courses.
  • A minimum of one year experience working in Accounts Payable.
  • A minimum of one year experience working in an accounting department.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications; knowledge of Microsoft D365 is considered an asset.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • The demonstrated ability to collect, compare and analyze all information and figures, while using creative and strategic approaches to solve complex problems and concepts.
  • The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
  • Hybrid work arrangement - 3 days in office required.
