We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team based in Montreal. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for a range of general staff accounting tasks but is primarily responsible for all accounting work associated with processing accounts payable, expense reporting and sales / use tax submissions. The right person should be analytical with accurate attention to detail, and will have proven experience with YARDI, as well as excellent communication skills.

Position Responsibilities

• Coordinate reception of all invoices and approval from three offices
• Verifying accuracy of vouchers for selected entity, coding and back-up provided
• Examine records of amounts due and make sure invoices are paid according to terms with proper approval and backup
• Reconcile credit cards statements and allocation of expenses when needed
• Processing of invoices in system
• Perform check runs twice a week
• Follow-up on discrepancy, dispute and resolution with vendors
• Prepare sales tax remittance; federal, provincial, state and local
• Filing and coordination of checks to send out
• Assisting accounting with intercompany reconciliations

Skills & Experience

3+ years accounting experience with real estate knowledge

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field is preferred for this position.

Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships

Ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and prioritize workload

Computer Skills : intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite and Yardi Voyager
