We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team based in Montreal. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for a range of general staff accounting tasks but is primarily responsible for all accounting work associated with processing accounts payable, expense reporting and sales / use tax submissions. The right person should be analytical with accurate attention to detail, and will have proven experience with YARDI, as well as excellent communication skills.

Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate reception of all invoices and approval from three offices
  • Verifying accuracy of vouchers for selected entity, coding and back-up provided
  • Examine records of amounts due and make sure invoices are paid according to terms with proper approval and backup
  • Reconcile credit cards statements and allocation of expenses when needed
  • Processing of invoices in system
  • Perform check runs twice a week
  • Follow-up on discrepancy, dispute and resolution with vendors
  • Prepare sales tax remittance; federal, provincial, state and local
  • Filing and coordination of checks to send out
  • Assisting accounting with intercompany reconciliations

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years accounting experience with real estate knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field is preferred for this position.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and prioritize workload
  • Computer Skills : intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite and Yardi Voyager
