Purpose Of Role:

Manning Elliott is a CPA firm with offices located in Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, and Abbotsford British Columbia, Canada. We provide personalized accounting and business advisory services to companies operating within a wide range of industries in seven major practice areas: Tax, Private Company, Public Company, NPOs, Business Advisory, Valuations and Specialty. Since our formation in 1952, Manning Elliott has experienced tremendous growth and development. Our firm consists of 200+ dedicated CPAs and business advisors with years of experience and success. Purpose of Role: Assists Senior Accountants, Managers and Partners in performing duties for their clients through using a variety of bookkeeping skills applying technical accounting knowledge.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes:

1. A minimum of 1-2 years experience working in an accountant or bookkeeping role
2. Experience with full cycle accounting to general ledger stage using various computer software
3. Experience with preparation of bank reconciliations
4. Experience with preparation of payroll and payroll benefits including filing of source deductions, interprovincial WorkSafe premiums, and record of employment
5. Filing of GST/HST return, QST return and various PST returns
6. Recording and reconciling investment accounting
7. Must have experience with QuickBooks, Sage 50, Sage Cloud and/or QuickBooks Online
8. Experience with Great Plains Dynamics considered an asset
9. Preparation and tracking of accounts payable/receivable sub-ledger
10. Public practice accounting firm experience is an asset but not necessary
11. Strong English communication skills – written and verbal
12. Proficiency in Japanese is a requirement for this role. Additional language skills (e.g., Chinese) are considered an asset.
13. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills as well as strong attention to detail
14. Works effectively in a team environment as well as individually and can handle a group of clients ensuring that client and statutory deadlines are met on a timely basis
15. Reviews own work to detect errors before submission for review
16. Works well under supervision and actively listens and asks questions related to the role

Responsibilities:

Our technicians are responsible for a book of clients ranging from full cycle accounting, preparation of payroll, GST/HST, QST and PST tax compliance filings and various other accounting related matters that may arise on a daily basis. Must be able to multitask and handle client related matters on a timely basis. Working in a team is essential and must be willing to learn as well as train junior staff in order to meet deadlines.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $48,000 to $55,000. Individual salaries within this range will be dependent upon skills, experience, and qualifications.
