Job summary

The AC Group of Independent Accounting Firms Limited is seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our Bridgewater office. You will provide bookkeeping, accounting, and tax preparation services to small and medium-sized business clients while collaborating with managers, partners, and the team.

You will support preparation of T1 and T2 filings, compilations, and related working papers, while maintaining confidentiality and high-quality service in a public accounting environment.

Qualifications

  • Approximately five years of experience in accounting technician roles within public accounting, bookkeeping, or tax preparation.
  • A diploma in accounting or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience preparing bookkeeping files, accounting records, personal tax returns, corporate tax returns, or compilation working papers is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bookkeeping and accounting functions for small and medium-sized business clients.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare Canada Revenue Agency filings (T1 personal, T2 corporate).
  • Prepare compilation engagements and related working papers.
  • Communicate with clients professionally to obtain information and respond to inquiries.

Bridgewater and Halifax, Nova Scotia | Reports to: Manager or Partner

Join Our Team

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our Bridgewater office. In this role, you will provide bookkeeping, accounting, and tax preparation services to small and medium-sized business clients while working closely with managers, partners, and other members of our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys client service, takes pride in accurate work, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a professional public accounting environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform bookkeeping and accounting functions for small and medium-sized business clients.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare Canada Revenue Agency filings, including but not limited to:
  • T1 Personal Income Tax Returns
  • T2 Corporate Income Tax Returns
  • Compilation engagements and related working papers
  • Communicate professionally with clients to obtain information and respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and Firm information.
  • Comply with Firm policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Participate in ongoing learning and professional development activities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  • Approximately five years of experience working as an accounting technician in public accounting, bookkeeping, or tax preparation.
  • A diploma in accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Previous experience preparing bookkeeping files, accounting records, personal tax returns, corporate tax returns, or compilation engagement working papers is considered an asset.
