The Family Centre in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day finances with a focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconciliations, and special projects for the Foster Care program.
You will ensure financial system integrity, follow internal controls, collaborate across teams, and work independently to meet department goals in a full-time, 36.5-hour-per-week office-based role.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounting Specialist supports the day-to-day financial operations of The Family Centre with a focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, in addition to performing reconciliations, variance analysis, and assisting with special projects within the finance department. The Accounting Specialist plays a vital role in the financial administration of our ohpikîhakan Foster Care program, which includes supporting and educating caregivers on expense requirements as well as liaising with program leadership.

You are dedicated to maintaining financial system integrity through adherence to internal controls, ethical behavior, and professional conduct. You value collaboration and contributing to a high-functioning dynamic team but can also work independently and take initiative.
This is a full-time, permanent position of 36.5 hours per week and is based in office.
