Job summary

Intact in Calgary, Alberta is seeking an Accounting Service Representative to join our growing team. You will accurately process payments, reconcile deposits, prepare invoices and cheques, and post billing statements in the accounting system.

Daily duties include reconciling accounts, reviewing cash reports, handling payment issues, and supporting premium refunds while delivering reliable client service. We offer hybrid work, a comprehensive benefits program, annual bonus potential, an ESPP, and

• College Diploma in accounting (asset) or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Maintain accuracy with high-volume work.
• Effective communication with customer service emphasis.
• Strong data entry skills with standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify payments received and reconcile deposits.
• Prepare, dispatch invoices, statements, and cheques.
• Record and post broker billing statements and payments.
• Reconcile basic accounts and resolve outstanding amounts.
• Review cash reports, adjust journal entries, and process cheque requisitions.
• Verify banking information and process premium refunds.
• Handle payment issues and account discrepancies.

Salary range

43,600 - 53,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Service Representative to join our growing team!

What you will accomplish with us:

• Accurately process and verify payments received, reconcile bank deposits and verify deposit totals.
• Prepare, compile and dispatch invoices, statements, reports and cheques.
• Record and post broker billing statements and payments in the payment register and accounting system.
• Reconcile basic accounts and resolve outstanding amounts.
• Review and resolve daily cash reports, correct and adjust journal entries and process cheque requisitions.
• Verify and post banking information, review new business, amend payment schedules, and process premium refunds for accounts.
• Handle unresolved issues regarding payments, disbursements, billing arrangements, payment methods and account discrepancies.

What you will bring:

• College Diploma in accounting (asset) or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Can consistently perform at a superior level with respect to both the accuracy and volume of work completed.
• Effective communications skills with an emphasis on customer service.
• Strong computer skills or training with standard office applications including strong data entry skills.
• No Canadian work experience required, however must be eligible to work in Canada.
