Job summary

Accounting Manager in Regina, SK, in-office, leads a small finance team to ensure accurate monthly and year-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will partner with leadership to drive continuous improvement and ensure timely, high-quality financial information.

You will oversee day-to-day accounting, mentor four accounting professionals, and coordinate with external auditors during audits, while helping evolve processes and automation within the function.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
• CPA designation strongly preferred; candidates pursuing CPA will be considered.
• Exceptional candidates without a CPA may have an MBA or strong credentials.
• Progressive experience in financial accounting, month-end close, year-end processes and audit support.
• Leadership experience is an asset; open to Senior Accountant moving into management.
• Public practice experience is relevant for transition to industry.
• Manufacturing experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership for the accounting team and oversee month-end, close processes and reporting.
• Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of financial statements and disclosures.
• Coach and develop accounting staff, manage priorities during busy periods.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support year-end audit activities.
• Identify improvements to controls, policies and financial processes.
