Marmon Rail Group seeks an Accounting Manager (Canada) responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, supporting our Rail group, and participating in related projects. Reporting directly to the Group Controller, this is a key, visible role within the organization.

Procor Limited manages Canada's largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network, servicing markets including petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers, and food. Our fleet exceeds 30,500 tank and freight cars, with 28 repair locations nationwide.

The Accounting Manager ensures timely, accurate financial reporting, analysis, and compliance activities aligned with operational and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include leading financial close processes, internal controls, and providing insights for decision-making. Success is measured by meeting reporting deadlines, maintaining compliance, and contributing to process improvements.

Salary Range: CA$119,340 - CA$132,600 annually.

Essential Functions

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
• Maintain and review general ledger reconciliations; recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and present financial reports for reviews and leadership meetings.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with controls and regulations.
• Document financial processes and internal controls; recommend updates.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for financial reporting.
• Manage inventory count processes to ensure financial accuracy.
• Assist in financial evaluations for business development and acquisitions.
• Provide timely financial analysis to leadership.
• Perform additional duties and projects as needed.

Skills / Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of progressive accounting, analysis, and reporting experience.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Proven leadership in financial processes within complex environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and initiative.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Leadership and problem-solving skills; experience with internal audits and controls (SOX is a plus).
