About Opportunity

We are two growing aerospace manufacturing companies — CFN Precision, a precision machining and manufacturing business in Vaughan, Ontario, and Tecnickrome Aéronautique, a specialist in aerospace surface treatment and processing in Montreal, Quebec — both part of the MA Group S.p.A. family of companies.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities for both Canadian operations while ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial information. Working within a lean finance team, this is a highly hands-on role requiring both technical accounting expertise and strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operations, purchasing, quality, HR, and management to support sound business decisions and continuous improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations for both Canadian entities.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under ASPE and IFRS for corporate reporting.
  • Prepare financial reporting packages, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for the CFO and corporate headquarters.
  • Coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist with the annual external audit and act as a primary liaison with external auditors.
Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
  • Maintain standard costing, inventory valuation, and work-in-process accounting.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, labour efficiency, inventory variances, and product margins.
  • Support operations by providing accurate costing information for pricing, quoting, and capital investment decisions.
  • Participate in inventory counts and ensure inventory accuracy across both facilities.
Planning, Cash & Compliance
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial projections.
  • Support cash flow reporting and working capital management.
  • Ensure timely compliance with GST/HST, QST, payroll remittances, corporate tax requirements, and other statutory filings.
  • Maintain and strengthen accounting controls, policies, and financial processes.
  • Participate in ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and process automation initiatives.
Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Supervise and support accounting staff across both Canadian operations.
  • Build strong working relationships with department managers and operational leaders.
  • Assist the CFO with financial analysis, board reporting, banking requirements, insurance renewals, and strategic projects.
  • Contribute to integration initiatives and continuous improvement activities across the finance function.
  • Support customer and industry financial reporting requirements common within aerospace manufacturing.
Qualifications
Required
  • CPA designation (CPA Ontario or CPA Québec), or actively pursuing completion.
  • Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
  • Working knowledge of ASPE and IFRS, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a lean finance environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems; JobBoss and QuickBooks experience is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to Montreal (approximately once per month).
Preferred
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions.
  • Knowledge of Quebec payroll legislation and Revenu Québec reporting requirements.
  • Experience within aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with SR&ED claims and government funding programs.
  • Experience participating in ERP implementations or system upgrades.
