Job summary

STRIVE Recruitment Inc. is partnering with a leading Canadian manufacturing company to hire an Accounting Manager in Vancouver.

The role oversees day-to-day accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and payroll, with cross-entity responsibilities and process improvements. The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation with 5+ years in accounting, preferably in manufacturing, and strong ERP and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing experience is a strong asset.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
• Strong communication across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and month-end close.

• Prepare journal entries with proper documentation.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with tax filings and government surveys.
• Participate in projects to improve reporting accuracy.

As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an Accounting Manager to join their finance team and play a key role in overseeing the accounting function across multiple entities.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting function while taking ownership of the month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll accounting, reconciliations, and process improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant/ Accounting Manager who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with senior leadership, and having a direct impact on improving processes and financial reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the full-cycle accounting function and month-end close process.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Oversee the Accounts Payable team and payroll accounting.
• Maintain fixed assets, sub-ledgers, depreciation schedules, and inventory costing.
• Manage lease accounting and cost recovery.
• Liaise with external auditors and support annual audit/review engagements.
• Review and improve accounting processes, controls, and procedures.
• Support accounting for multiple entities, including property holding companies.
• Partner with the Controller and Financial Analyst on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure appropriate supporting documentation.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Assist with tax filings, government surveys, banking requirements, and other financial initiatives.
• Participate in projects focused on improving reporting accuracy and efficiency.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• CPA designation or equivalent.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing experience is considered a strong asset.
• Strong full-cycle accounting and month-end close experience.
• Experience working with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics; Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• A hands-on, proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of projects and process improvements.

COMPENSATION

• BASE: $90,000 – $95,000 annual salary
• BONUS: Discretionary annual incentive plan
• BENEFITS: Extended health and dental benefits
