Our client is a well-established litigation firm based in Toronto, known for their deep expertise in complex legal matters and a strong reputation within the industry. As the firm continues to grow, they are looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to their team to lead and oversee all financial functions.

About the Role:

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full accounting cycle and supporting the financial operations of the firm. This is a full-time, in-office position offering the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative legal team while leading all core financial and payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities
• Manage full month-end and year-end closing processes
• Handle payroll processing and compliance
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
• Work closely with the leadership team to support budgeting and planning
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with all legal accounting standards
• Maintain and manage trust and general accounts in accordance with Law Society of Ontario guidelines

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience managing the accounting process within a legal environment
• Strong understanding of legal accounting practices (trust accounting, client ledgers, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Soluno
• Proficiency in all aspects of bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field
