Job summary

EllisDon Corporation in Ontario is seeking an Accounting Manager with a CPA designation to lead month-end and external financial reporting for management. You will drive accuracy, rigorous analysis, and timely close processes in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will prepare monthly reporting for joint ventures, support the year-end audit, and contribute to internal controls and process improvements. The role offers competitive compensation and a commitment to inclusion.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required and working knowledge of ASPE.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in public accounting is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proactive, self-managing team player with analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end financial reporting to management.
• Assist with year-end external audit.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for joint ventures and external stakeholders.
• Participate in financial reporting, analysis, and control assessments for joint ventures and partnerships.
• Perform research on technical accounting matters and standards for new transactions.
• Identify risk areas and design, implement, and monitor internal controls.
• Participate in special projects such as acquisition due-diligence and systems conversions.

You As Accounting Manager Will

• Assist with month-end internal financial reporting processes and financial reporting to management
• Assist with the year-end external audit
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for joint venture partners and other external stakeholders
• Participate in financial reporting, analysis, and control assessments for joint ventures and partnerships
• Perform research on technical accounting matters, and accounting standards analysis for new transactions
• Identify risk areas, research and evaluate best practices, and design, recommend, implement and monitor controls and other processes
• Participate in special projects as they arise, which may involve: acquisition due-diligence and closing, accounting system conversions, and internal control reviews

Is this the right role for you?

• You hold a CPA designation
• You have a strong accounting background, with experience in ASPE
• Experience in public accounting is an asset
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• You are a well-organized, proactive and detail oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic fast paced environment
• You are a highly technical accountant that has strong attention to detail and can offer process improvements and innovative solutions
• You possess strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
• The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $115,000
