Job summary

Lenovo is offering a paid accounting internship in Markham, Ontario. The North America Accounting team will provide hands-on exposure to end-to-end Record-to-Report workflows, month-end close, and financial reporting.

The role supports regional finance operations with 40 hours/week, on-site 3 days a week plus two days flex, with potential for scheduling flexibility. You will work with accounting specialists, gain multinational accounting exposure, and develop practical knowledge of standards

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related business at a Canadian university with expected graduation in 2027/2028.
• Solid accounting principles foundation.
• Proficient in Excel; exposure to SAP or ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and data aptitude; well-organized work habits.
• Excellent English communication; able to collaborate across time zones.
• Proactive, collaborative, able to manage multiple tasks during peak close periods.
• Legally authorized to work full-time in Canada for the internship period.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day North America accounting operations and Record-to-Report activities.
• Assist with data validation, reconciliation workpapers and documentation for financial reporting.
• Maintain records in compliance with corporate standards and internal controls.
• Collaborate with finance stakeholders and external service providers on assigned deliverables.
• Participate in month-end close activities including data aggregation and report preparation.
• Perform ERP-related tasks in SAP S/4HANA / SAP ECC, including data lookup.
• Build Excel spreadsheets, prepare meeting materials and perform ad-hoc financial analysis.

Description and Requirements

About the Role

This internship opportunity is within Lenovo's North America Accounting team in our Markham Office. The intern will gain hands-to-hands exposure to end-to-end Record-to-Report workflows, month-end close cycles and financial reporting. You will partner with in-house accounting specialists to support regional finance operations and build practical knowledge of multinational accounting compliance standards. Lenovo works on a 3:2 hybrid schedule, we'd like this intern in the office with us 3 days a week and two days flex, ideally 40 hrs a week. (We can be somewhat flexible based on class schedules)

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day North America accounting operations and Record-to-Report process activities
• Assist with data validation, reconciliation workpapers and supporting documentation for financial reporting
• Help maintain records in compliance with corporate accounting standards and internal control requirements
• Collaborate with internal finance stakeholders and outsourced service providers on assigned deliverables
• Participate in month-end close activities including data aggregation, report preparation and task follow-up
• Execute ERP-related tasks within SAP S/4HANA / SAP ECC, including data lookup and document filing
• Build Excel spreadsheets, compile meeting materials and complete ad-hoc financial analysis as assigned by team leadership

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business program at a Canadian university; with an expected graduation in 2027 / 2028.
• Solid academic foundation in core accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; hands-on exposure to SAP or other ERP systems is an asset
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong data aptitude and well-organized work habits
• Effective English communication skills; comfortable collaborating within cross-cultural, multi-time-zone global teams
• Proactive learning mindset, strong teamwork skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks during peak financial close periods
• Legally authorized to work full-time in Canada for the entire internship period
