The City of Toronto seeks an Accounting Assistant 3 within the Seniors Services and Long-Term Care Division. You will perform a variety of accounting duties including preparation of financial statements, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Ideal candidates will have relevant education and considerable experience in accounting, coupled with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

The City’s Seniors Services and Long-Term Care Division supports Toronto seniors and residents in long-term care homes to have the healthiest, most fulfilling lives possible through exceptional care and services. Vulnerable individuals who reside in the community are supported through adult day programs, supportive housing services, tenancy support and homemakers and nurses services. Working within the Seniors Services and Long-Term Care Home's Revenue & Trust Services Unit, the Accounting Assistant 3 will be a part of a team of professionals responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties related to accommodation billing, managing accounts receivable, banking and cash management, collections and reconciling ledger accounts. The team is also responsible for effective internal controls, adherence to Ministry of Long-term Care regulations, policies and submission of reports required by the Ministry.

As a condition of employment with the Senior Services and Long-Term Care Division, selected candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Reference Check (PRC) with vulnerable sector screening, tuberculosis screening and proof of immunization in accordance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 (O.Reg. 246/22).
