Job description

Kelly Santini is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our accounting team. If you are looking to start or advance your career in accounting, this role may be ideal for you. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards, and providing support across departments.

Specific Duties of the Role:

• Support the CFO and Managing Partner in preparing and analyzing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Act as a liaison between the accounting department and other departments, addressing inquiries and providing support as needed.
• Review trust and general journal entries, A/R and A/P entries, EFT and wire transactions.
• Assist with month-end, quarterly, and year-end processes, including financial statement preparation, reporting, and external audits.
• Support full-cycle accounting, including reconciliations, invoicing, A/R collection, A/P processing, and reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial performance reports for partners, associates, students, and clerks; provide strategic recommendations.
• Complete monthly reporting for the CFO and Managing Partner, including aging analysis of A/R and WIP, bank and A/P reports, financial statements, and cost recovery analysis.
• Assist with Law Society and insurance filings and compliance.
• Process remittances and tax filings.
• Coordinate special projects as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in Accounting/Finance roles and/or formal education in Accounting.
• Legal industry experience is an asset but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with professionalism in interactions.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, controls, banking, and financial implications.
• Business acumen and proficiency with technology.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
